I found my love of dance as a freshman in high school. Although I danced as a little girl, my true passion came to me through my high school years. I danced through both high school and college and took a break to finish my Masters in Education and start my family. I’ve been teaching 1st grade for 6 years and was so fortunate to find my way back into dancing through teaching at SonDance. We at SonDance are thrilled to welcome Kaileigh for her first year on the SonDance staff. She is a marvelous addition!
I started dancing at the age of 3 because I was so klutzy my mom was hopeful it would help me. It didn't help in that department but my love of dance grew and found a forever place in my heart. I studied dance throughout my grade school years, and while in college I started teaching as well. After I graduated college as a nurse and started my family, I continued to dance and teach on and off as it was always calling me. I love being a part of the Son Dance family, when my daughter started dancing here, I truly saw the gift that this studio gives to each child and adult who walks through the doors. SonDance teaches us to see the beauty in those around us as well as in the art of dance. My favorite activities when I am not dancing are photography, quilting, gardening, enjoying nature, sunshine, camping and exploring with my husband, 2 sons and daughter. We are thrilled to have Amy joining us for her first year on staff.
Emily loves spending time learning alongside her husband Brad and their four wonderful children. She loves being around kids and has taught children and youth in various settings for over 10 years. She spent eight years as a competitive cheerleader and especially enjoyed the dancing aspect of it. Emily has been dancing for as long as she can remember, but discovered her love of hip hop when she found SonDance's adult classes a few years ago. For Emily, dance is a great way to find mental clarity and joy, especially in an uplifting community like SonDance!
Rosebeth has been dancing since she was 3. She is a versatile dancer who has had professional ballet training as well as formal training in all other techniques. Rosebeth is a licensed personal trainer and has developed all of our fitness programs that a rope to the public as well as to dancers. Rosebeth has over 15 years experience working with children, mainly as a case manager working with children with special needs. This work has given her a compassion and understanding for all children. Dance allows her to express herself and get some good exercise and she is excited about instilling confidence and enthusiasm in her students. We are thrilled to have her at SonDance faculty for her second year.
Kaleigh has been dancing since she was 3 and danced with local dance studios in Wells, Arundel and Sanford through her childhood years. Now, she is sharing her love of dance again by joining SonDance as a student and a teacher. Kaleigh has over 10 year’s experience working with children and instilling passion and overall love of learning for each student. She is a Kindergarten teacher at Windham Primary School in Windham ME and will bring a well-rounded dance curriculum suited for younger dancers. Kaleigh’s kind and caring nature are consistent with the SonDance vision to know and love our students. We are thrilled to have Kaleigh as part of the SonDance faculty for her third year.
